    ITANAGAR: Former Arunachal chief minister Jarbom Gamlin (53) died at a hospital in Gurgaon on Sunday night, family sources said. He was suffering from liver thrombosis and had been admitted in Medanta Hospital.
    Gamlin is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son. His body will be flown to Itanagar on Tuesday and then to his hometown Aalo in West Siang district.His last rites will be conducted on Wednesday, sources said. The Arunachal government declared state mourning on Monday, while the West Siang district administration has announced Wednesday a holiday.

    Former Arunachal CM Jarbom Gamlin's wife passes away

    ITANAGAR: Dr Moter Jini Gamlin, wife of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Jarbom Gamlin, died at a private hospital in Guwahati on Sunday evening. The 44-year-old leaves behind her husband, a 13-year-old daughter and four-year-old son, apart from her parents, parents-in-law and a host of relatives and well-wishers, officials said on Monday. Her mortal remains will be brought back from Guwahati and will be laid to rest at her native town of Aalo on Tuesday.
    Jini Gamlin had been in a coma since December 2008 and had undergone extensive treatment in Delhi and later at Guwahati.
    Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen (Retd) J J Singh and chief minister Nabam Tuki expressed shock and grief at the demise of Jini Gamlin. The Governor and the CM conveyed their sympathy to Gamlin and his bereaved family in a condolence message.
    In his message to former chief minister, Tuki wrote: "I am aware how painful it is for you to be deprived of the love and affection of your wife and the futility of these words of condolences. But we should take solace in the eternal truth that the soul is immortal. May the Almighty give strength and courage to you and your family to bear this irreparable loss."
