Si Macario Sakay y de León ( – 13 Setyembre ) ay isang Pilipinong heneral na nakibahagi sa Himagsikang Pilipino noong laban sa Espanya at sa Digmaang Pilipino-Amerikano. Pagkatapos ihayag ang digmaan laban sa Estados Unidos noong , ipinagpatuloy ni Sakay ang paglaban at ang sumunod na taon ay naging Pangulo ng Republikang Tagalog.[1]

Macario Sakay(1 March September ) was President of the Tagalog Republic from 6 May to 14 July , succeeding Miguel Malvar. He continued Filipino resistance to the United States occupation against Emilio Aguinaldo's orders, but he ultimately surrendered on 20 July and was executed by hanging in after being convicted of "brigandage".

Macario Sakay was born in Tondo, Manila, Philippines, and he worked as a tailor and stage actor beforejoiningthe Katipunan in at the age of He fought alongside Andres Bonifacio during the Philippine Revolution, and he was briefly arrested at the start of the Philippine-American Warfor seditious activities. However, he later escaped and continued Filipino resistance to the United States after Emilio Aguinaldo's surrender in , and he co-founded the Nacionalista Party in and declared war on the US in May He established the Tagalog Republic in the mountains of Rizal and claimed to be its President and commander-in-chief, and he planned to kidnap President Theodore Roosevelt's daughter. He surrendered on 20 July , but he was charged with banditry under the Brigandage Act and was hanged on 13 September
